Laiterie Soummam was created in 1993 by Lounis Hamitouche in association with two members of his family. The first factory is installed in Chellata, it employed 20 workers and produced 20,000 yogurts per day3. Two years later, its production capacities tripled with 3 production lines to reach 12,000 pots / hour and a workforce of 60 employees. |
In 2000, the factory, then called Soummam 1, was set up in the Taharacht industrial zone in Akbou. In 2002, a second extension was undertaken on an adjoining land, named Soummam 2. This entered production a year later. In 2006, a third extension was carried out and gave birth to Soummam 3. In 2008, construction of a 4th Soummam 4 building and gradual investment in new production lines. The Soummam dairy produces Soummam UHT milk (plain, VitaMilk, flavored, slimming and coffee), yoghurts in pots Fort, Acti +, Céréalo, B'nina, J'nina, Mamzoudj, bottled yogurts Olé, Yago, Aladin , fresh P'tit Soummam cheeses (plain and flavored), dairy specialties and other dairy desserts. The Soummam dairy also produces Délices processed cheese, in portion form, and a melted cheese specialty, in a mini bar. |
